JERRY JEFF WALKER

Lone Star Legend, Jerry Jeff Walker returns to One World Theatre.  Best known as the writer of “Mr. Bojangles,” Walker is an American music legend and one of the forefathers of the outlaw/progressive country sound.  He writes music through a troubadour’s eyes that has retained the power to touch generations of listeners and inspiring folks like Pat Green, Robert Earl Keen and Garth Brooks along the way.  As an elder statesman of Texas music, Walker helped put Austin on the map as “The Live Music Capital of the World.”

Al Di Meola

 Stephen Bishop

Stephen Bishop's light pop style garnered him popular and critical success as a solo artist in the late '70s and a greater reputation as a quality songwriter.  He was nominated for two GRAMMY Awards and an Oscar nomination for his song “Separate Lives”, which was sung by Phil Collins.  Bishop had two major hits with the songs “On and On” and “It Might Be You, from the movie, Tootsie.  His songs have been sung by artists such as Eric Clapton, Barbra Streisand, Art Garfunkel, Steve Perry, Kenny Loggins, Johnny Mathis, David Crosby and Luciano Pavarotti.

Richie Havens

Richie Havens is gifted with one of the most recognizable voices in popular music. His fiery, poignant, always soulful singing style has remained unique and ageless since he first emerged from the Greenwich Village folk scene in the early 1960’s. It’s a voice that has inspired and electrified audiences from the Woodstock Music & Arts Fair in 1969, to the Clinton Presidential Inauguration in 1993, coming full circle with the 30th Woodstock Anniversary celebration, "A Day In The Garden" in 1999.  Havens uses his powerful voice and conscious lyrics to convey a message of brotherhood and personal freedom.

When jazz trumpeter, composer and band leader Jeff Lofton arrived in Austin in 2007 from South Carolina early reviews heralded:  "Listen up Miles Davis fans... " from the Austin American-Statesman and "... channels Miles Davis... " Since then he's been called " one of Austin music's recent overnight successes, even though he's been playing the trumpet for more than 30 years" by the Statesman, honored with Jeff Lofton Day, and his original, "Shana's Song," was selected for Austin Music Vol. 8. His new album "Jazz to the People" was ranked in the Top 9 Austin Albums of 2009 by the Austin Chronicle, and on KUT's Top Ten Albums of 2009: DJ Picks. The show features Miles Davis' compositions and interpretations made famous by the first great Miles Davis Quintet during 1950 - 1959, and includes excerpts from Kind of Blue.

The Stanley Clarke Band Featuring Hiromi

Recording artist, performer, composer, conductor, arranger, producer and film score composer, Stanley Clarke is one of the most celebrated bass players in the world. Known for his ferocious dexterity and consummate musicality, Clarke is a true musical pioneer, whether solo or with Return to Forever. Unquestionably, he has attained 'living legend' status during his 36-year career as a bass virtuoso.  Hiromi has been heralded as one of the brightest new lights on the piano jazz landscape since the release of Another Mind, her 2003 debut recording. Six years and four critically acclaimed albums later, she has not only lived up to the initial praise for her early efforts but surpassed it entirely - thanks in large part to live performances that spotlight her boundless talent, energy and artistic vision.  After collaborating on the award-winning and critically acclaimed, acoustic trio effort, Jazz in the Garden, Stanley asked Hiromi to join The Stanley Clarke Band.
