Overview | Programs & Artists | Scholarship Program

By now we hope you are aware of our arts-in-education outreach to area schools. We refer to it as the heart and soul of our organization and we are constantly trying to expand our efforts in reaching Austin's underserved youth. The introduction of this SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM aims to provide more opportunities to explore the Arts to even more students, by donating tickets to attend the world-class performances at One World Theatre.

How can you help? Perhaps you want to guarantee that you keep your seats from season to season but can't make every show in the Full Season Package, the only way to guarantee first seating priority. You can gift any unused tickets back to us (at least 2 weeks prior to the show) and they will be put into a Scholarship Fund. For selected shows, One World will then give groups of tickets to AISD who will then distribute the tickets as incentives for students' academic achievements and to budding Arts students.

Imagine a high school student who has studied ballet since early childhood, watching Stars of the Joffrey Ballet from the intimacy of our Theatre, or a middle school student taking up saxophone inspired by sax legend Paquito D'Rivera. The SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM ensures that your unused tickets are transformed into educational tools and used by students who might otherwise neverpersonally experience the Arts. Through your support of this program the children of our community may develop a broadened appreciation and understanding of various cultures and their creativity may be inspired, motivating them to achieve more than ever dreamed of.

To learn more, or to dedicate your unused tickets to the Scholarship Fund, call the Development Department at 330-9500 ext. 131.

"Thank you so much for the opportunity that you extend by providing complimentary tickets. The students that are enabled to attend are certainly among those that would not benefit from these performances otherwise. To be exposed to live theatre and musical performances in your stunningly beautiful facility is, indeed, an enlightening experience. Hopefully, this experience will lead to a young appreciation of the arts and a continued patronage of the arts in the years to come." - Deborah Gentile, E.S.L./Art Instructor, Del-Valle I.S.D.
